The Drums

The Drums are a pretty new band consisting of Jonathan Pierce and Jacob Graham based out of Florida. They play really summery tunes about heartbreak and whatnot but there's something about these guys that makes them really stick out in my mind. They have an ep out now called Summertime that is worth every bit of your time. It reminds me a lot of The Smiths, but with some of the modern twists that you typically find in "chill-wave" or "glo-fi" or whatever these darn kids are calling stuff these days. Anyway you should really listen to the ep. I'm greatly looking forward to the long player they're supposed to be releasing soonish.

Ok if you ever hang out with me you've heard the heck out of a very amazing song by this Gold Panda guy called Quitters Raga, and as great as that song is, it's one flaw is its incredibly short length. Dude has put out some other songs since then, but none of them impressed me like "Quitters Raga" until now. This new single is called "You" and Derwin (that's his real, and pretty cool name) will release this track as a single 7" on his record lable NOTOWN. Listen to it and keep kleenex nearby because your going to need to clean up your brain.
